The Vessel

Ne-pen-the    (Greek) From Homer’s Iliad, meaning:

 

"a magical healing elixir of forgetfulness"

 

An aluminum sailing ketch built in 2011,  Nepenthe is 64’ long, 17’ beam, draughts 7’ and has a hull speed of 9 kts.   She has two masts, an aux engine, generator,  head, full galley, BBQ, and all necessary safety equipment.   There are 2 private staterooms and 2 open berths for overnight charters.  A 12’ dinghy runs passengers ashore as needed. Nepenthe has a spacious, stable deck and is open and airy below.

 

Nepenthe has logged over 5000 open ocean miles and thousands of miles on the St. Johns River.  She has ventured into the Caribbean as far south as Grenada and did weekly charter work in the USVI (2016-2017).

Nepenthe has recently completed a rigorous USCG  safety inspection and is certified to carry passengers for hire.
